Jan came to us at a time when our previous daycare situation was not working out. We reached out to her asking for a spot and we're fortunate enough to get one. Our son was able to attend Little Tots' in the year preceding his enrolment in school, and Jan was quintessential to his care and preparation during that period. She showed absolute compassion and love throughout his time with her, it was refreshing to be able to pick up our child at the end of the day and have him all tuckered out from playing hard and being so engaged at her place. She is a thoroughly competent and professional caretaker who provided us with outstanding communication and suggestion throughout. We loved receiving the photos throughout the day or finding out what he'd been up to. If we had a particular developmental hurdle to climb, Jan was right in there with us on board and helping accomplish it. Since moving on our son still misses her and it's clear to see the impact she had on his life and development; When we hear the phrase "it takes a village" we are honoured to have been able to include her in ours.. We had the pleasure of having Jan care for our kids for approximately a month and a half this past summer after our family moved to Kingston. We were looking for full-time childcare for our daughter, and occasional care for our son. After our meet-and-greet, we felt comfortable starting care with her right away. From the beginning, Jan made a real effort to get to know our kids. She would ask about their favourite activities, foods, and interests, and she genuinely incorporated those things into their days. She went beyond simply providing childcare and created a fun, engaging environment where the kids could learn, explore, and just be kids. There were several child-inclusive activities such as baking, as well as trips to the park and splash pad whenever the weather permitted. We especially appreciated that Jan gave the children the freedom to get messy, play, explore, and experience the world around them. She encouraged them to be curious and active while providing a warm and caring environment. Although our time with Jan was relatively short because our kids started school in September, we are very grateful for the care, attention, and love she poured into our children during that time. It was clear to us that she genuinely cared about their happiness and well-being, and our kids enjoyed their time with her immensely. We would happily recommend Jan to any family looking for a caring, attentive, and engaging childcare provider.
